State of the Art Facility
Technology is always changing, but we are consistently updating our diagnostic and delivery
systems so we can provide the best treatment for each of our patients. We utilize the
latest in computer technology (digital imaging and advanced computer graphics) to ensure
that you receive the most effective and efficient care possible.
Digital Impressions
We are proud to offer our patients the Cadent iOC digital impression system. We were among the first few offices to offer this new technology. Otherwise known as intraoral scanning, digital impressions provide you with a better experience. This technique eliminates the dreaded “goop”, the unpleasant taste, drooling and gagging. Digital impressions are more accurate and can be transmitted electronically. These features result in more accurate treatment planning, less waiting time and better orthodontic care for you.
Digital X-rays
Digital technology has also been applied to dental X-rays to make them safer and more
convenient. While conventional dental X-rays are relatively safe, digital dental x-rays
use up to 90 percent less radiation. In addition, these x-rays are higher quality, immediately
available and environmentally friendly since they do not require chemicals to develop.
Imaging has developed even further with the introduction of 3-D technology, which in certain complex situations can help us understand how to better treat your problems. The main benefit of CBCT technology is that scans can see many types of tissue including teeth, bone nerves and soft tissue and can eliminate the need for exploratory surgery. In addition, certain hidden or overlapping structures can be seen with CBCT technology that is not visible on traditional x-rays.
Virtual Setup
A
virtual setup is a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/ Computer Aided Manufacturing)
creation of your teeth when they are straight. The digital impression of your teeth
creates a 3-D image on which the teeth can be moved into the best position for you. Before
we start, we can determine which treatment approach is best for you by seeing this result
of your tooth movement
Once the virtual setup is complete, the virtual braces can also be placed on this virtual
model. The braces are then precisely transferred to your mouth with terrific accuracy
by a process called indirect bonding. You benefit by having a better final result, a
shorter time in braces and enhanced stability.
